It's Been A While...

Hi all! So sorry I've been gone for a long while! Between working at Sephora and going to school full time and just being lazy I haven't pulled a camera out for my nails in a long time, except my iPhone camera! I have been painting my nails like crazy though and acquiring plenty more new polishes to add to my ever growing collection!

The thing about my blog is that it's not like your average nail blog. Yes I swatch colors and paint my nails a lot but I don't paint them every day like most nail blogs. I just can't. First I don't have time for that and second, in my opinion I feel like its a waste of polish. Plus, sometimes I really love the color or nail art I'm wearing and don't want to take it off for a while!! But I will start back up taking detailed pictures of my nails and nail art from now on! I love blogging and this blog and don't want to let it fall by the way side. So I'm going to share some pictures of my nail art and nails I've been doing in the last few months! Also, if you would like to see my nails and nail art more plus some random things, please feel free to follow me on Instagram! My username is @annabug91! Enjoy!:)

HARE Bisbee!!

Hi everyone! My second post in a week! Yay! Do you like my new blog look?! I was ready for a change! Today I have Hare Bisbee to show you! OMG. Love at first sight. Apparently, this polish is pretty hard to get but I was able to grab a bottle! It's a turquoise base with golden glitters of different sizes suspended in it. It is named for the Gold mines in Bisbee, Arizona according to Hare's description! I layered one coat of this over one coat of Zoya Frida, a turquoise/green jelly!

HARE polish Bisbee and Zoya Frida.

So gorgeous! TONS of glitter!

Application was great! I didn't have to dig for glitter and I got a ton of it on each nail! I've never had to dig for any glitter in my Hare polishes because they are so packed full with glitter! I love glitter! On to the pictures!

My big puppy, Falco in the background:)

My thumb nails grow super long really fast so I cut them down and this time I think I made them a little too short...But I'm sure they'll grow out in a week!

Once again, Hare continues to be my favorite Indy brand. They are so unique and beautiful! I also got two of her new polishes, Electric Flame and Bury the Hatchetfish and I can't WAIT to try them! If you want some Hare polish of your own you can find it on Hare's Etsy store which reopens soon I believe or get it from Llarowe. Be patient! It is hard to get a hold of but wellllllll worth the wait!

IKAT Print Nails!

Hi everyone! I know it's been awhile again, I need to get better about posting more! I just get busy with school and I just got a new job at Sephora! So excited! I've been wanting to try more nail art like I said in my dotticure manicure post and I've gotten some really good ideas from a beauty blogger named MissJenFABULOUS. I LOVE her video blog and tutorials on her youtube channel! She gives some awesome nail tutorials and I decided to try out her IKAT print manicure. Ikat print is really popular right now in clothing and a bunch of other stuff. It looks kind of like a tribal print. So I watched her tutorial and it seemed pretty easy so I decided to try it on two accent nails since it was my first time to try it. It turned out so AWESOME in my opinion! It is one of my favorite manicures I've ever done! I used my index and middle fingers as accent nails and painted the rest of my nails with Butter LONDON Trout Pout, a super pretty coral/cantaloupe color. For my Ikat print I used Lime Crime polishes in Once in a Blue Mousse, Milky Ways, and Lavendairy. I LOVEEEE Lime Crime.

Left to right: Trout Pout, Lavendairy, Milky Ways, and Once in a Blue Mousse.

I thought the Ikat print would be hard to do but it was so easy thanks to the tutorial from MissJenFabulous. And I absolutely love the turnout! I'll let the pictures do the talking:)

Cute, right?! I love it and I love how easy it is! Next time I'm going to do the ikat on all of my nails! BTW, the black was done with an Orly black striper brush. You can get one at Ulta for $5. The key is to do little strokes so it doesn't look perfect and more like true ikat print. Go watch MissJenFabulous' tutorial here and try it out yourself!

Oh and on a sidenote, I don't know if you have noticed but my cuticles aren't dry and cracking anymore! I've been putting on LUSH Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter every night before bed and it is a miracle balm! I highly suggest getting some from Lush's website! Especially with the harsh winter coming up! They give you a ton in a jar too! Great amount for the price!

Great size jar!

I've been using this a ton since July and look how much is left!

Hare Polish Asteroid Turf!!

Hi everyone! Sorry I've been kind of MIA! School is kicking my butt and my mom had surgery today! But it's all good because I can conquer school and her surgery went well! Anyway, I ordered Hare Asteroid Turf since I loved Magic Mist so much! I knew it was risky because some people think that polish is not a good combo of colors but it is so unique and it turns out I LOVE it! It's unique and so pretty! The colors really compliment each other!! It's a green somewhat opaque base with fuschia glitters! I wanted to save my bottle like usual so I layered it over one coat of a gorgeous green creme polish, Essie Mojito Madness. I've never really been into green but I love it now and it looks pretty with my dark brunette hair and brown eyes!

OMG. I've never seen a polish like this before!

So application was awesome with this. And it looked AMAZING over the Essie! Almost an exact match! I am officially in love with Hare polishes now! I was even lucky enough to grab Bisbee before it sold out on Llarowe yesterday! Wait until you see that one! Here are my swatches, I'll let them do the talking!

Excuse my cuticles, they feel the pain of school as well...

So unique!

Basecoat, one coat of Essie Mojito Madness, one coat of Asteroid Turf, topcoat. :)

These colors are lovely together!

If you don't own any Hare polishes, I HIGHLY suggest you try one because you will fall in love! She sometimes sells them on her Etsy, but is now selling them through Llarowe. Go grab one, you won't regret it! Excellent formula with unique and beautiful colors and they stay on my nails for at least 5 days!! Can't wait to receive Bisbee to show you all!

First Dotticure!!

Hi everyone! The other day I was thinking about how I wanted to start doing more nail art! The first nail art I decided to try was a dotticure, simple and easy with some dotting tools. I bought my dotting tools on eBay for $2 for a pack of 5 pens that are double-sided. I ordered mine from someone in Georgia since I feel uncertain about stuff coming from China. They are metal and easy to clean with some polish remover and are so easy to use! You just dip the little ball into the bottle and dot the polish onto your nail! The dots come in all different sizes so you can do large and small dots!

I wasn't sure what base to use so I decided on a neutral, Essie Topless and Barefoot. Looking back now, I think next time I'll use a light mint base and dot with similar colors. For my dots I used Lime Crime's Once In A Blue Mousse, a robin's egg Tiffany blue; Essie Boxer shorts, a pretty blurple; and Essie Mojito Madness, a gorgeous and bright grass green. I dotted with one color and then once that was dry, I dotted with another color overlapping some of the previous dots. I'm really happy with how my first dotticure turned out!

Love this!

Overall, this manicure was extremely easy to do, and turns out so pretty! Up next I'll be trying some Ikat print so stay tuned!
